Hannah Anderson, 16, was 'creeped out' by family friend James Lee DiMaggio, who is the prime suspect in her abduction and her mother's death.

A missing teen girl was “creeped out” by the 40-year-old family friend suspected of killing her mother and possibly her 8-year-old brother, according to her friend.
Authorities suspect James Lee DiMaggio, a close family friend, kidnapped Hannah Anderson, 16, before he fled his rural California home near the Mexico border. An Amber Alert for Hannah now includes Washington state and Oregon after two possible sightings on Wednesday.
The girl’s friend, 15-year-old Marissa Chavez, said DiMaggio told Anderson he had a crush on her and would have liked to date her if they were the same age. Chavez said Anderson was leery of DiMaggio and felt uncomfortable riding alone with him to gymnastics meets.
"She was a little creeped out by it. She didn't want to be alone with him," Chavez said.

MISSING PERSONS OF AMERICA

A friend says Hannah Anderson, 16, felt uncomfortable after family friend James Lee DiMaggio confessed to having a crush on her.

Anderson asked Chavez to accompany her on the drives, and DiMaggio caught them exchanging glances a couple of months before the girl’s disappearance. Marissa said DiMaggio told the teens he didn’t want them to think he was weird.
Authorities began a manhunt for DiMaggio on Sunday after firefighters discovered 42-year-old Christina Anderson’s body next to a dead dog. Investigators later discovered the body of a child as well.
Hannah’s aunt, Andrea Saincome, told Headline News she believes the child is Hannah’s 8-year-old brother, Ethan. Investigators say it’s possible — even probable — that it’s Ethan, but they’re waiting on the results of a DNA analysis to make a positive identification.

San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told the Daily News it was impossible to tell if the child’s corpse found in the rubble was a boy or a girl.
Authorities have expanded an Amber Alert in an ever-widening effort to bring Anderson home safely. DiMaggio is believed to be driving a 2013 blue Nissan Versa. Oregon State Police received two reports of possible sightings on Wednesday, first in Northern California and again, about 30 minutes later, near the Southern Oregon town of Lakeview, The Oregonian newspaper reported.
Anderson’s father, Brett Anderson, pleaded with DiMaggio in a news conference on Tuesday.

“I’m begging you to let my daughter go,” Anderson said. “You’ve taken everything else.”
DiMaggio’s sister, Lora Robinson, told U-T San Diego she couldn’t believe he would commit the heinous crimes.

Hannah told her friend but not her mother that Dimaggio creeped her out? Why were she and her friend still being exposed to him at all, especially alone with him in a car?

positive ID made, it was Ethan
they are in Idaho

wonder if Hannah is the killer?

It's out of character for anyone until [they] do it and then it's completely "in character".

I hope authorities are able to get back Hannah before anymore harm comes to her.

Hannah's father made a plea for Hannah's life, something that Justin Dip and Billie Dunn couldn't do early on in the disappearance of their daughters.

Interesting that Hannah was "creeped out" or afraid of this man, just like Hailey Dunn was afraid of Shawn Adkins.

DiMaggio's sister knows something and she is not revealing her brother's character defects.

"That's completely out of character for him" This statement lacks commitment.

I hope that DiMaggio didn't murder Hannah's mother and brother in front of her.

This is a crazed and desperate man, who planned out his crimes.

I fear for Hannah' s life, as this is the type of man who would rape and murder Hannah then kill himself as a last act of selfish need.

in photos of the two together, she doesn't look creep-ed out to me. i think she had a secret thing going on with him.
the guy that seen them in Idaho did not think she was in any trouble or a captive.

maybe mom caught them and an argument ensued, and the girl ended up killing her mom. then to be able to be with her man, she killed little brother to leave no witnesses.

Unless they can find them and sneak up to save her, this will end badly. He has nothing left. I believe Hannah is a victim.

Off topic
Did anyone see Oprah Winfrey on the news claiming that she was a victim of racism in Sweden?

When I heard what she said, red flags started waving.

It's no wonder that Americans are hated in other countries.

It might also have something to do with being so geographically ignorant as to not know the difference between Sweden and Switzerland.

I first thought she may have fallen for the older man and he bought her 'love' ... That mom found out and snapped, leaving the little brother as the witness... Then they ran off together with no destination or plan... I hope I am wrong.
I hope they both are found alive. So we can find out the truth and justice will be served.
RIP Christina and Ethan

Hannah found safe. Dimaggio dead.

I'm glad Hannah was found safe. There are so many unknowns to this situation, and we may never know, now that DiMaggio is dead. Hannah's forthcoming statement may stand alone, unless there is someone else who may have more info. Time will tell.

I think the Oprah Winfrey incident was not so much racism as it was incompetent prejudiced stereotyping. When you are working in a store that sells 35.000 dollar bags, it is a good idea not to let everyone touch the bags, or they would get smudged, stained, scratched and unsellable. So generally the store clerk would have to make an assessment if the client is rich enough to be able to buy the bag. If the client does not seem rich enough to be able to buy the bag, they would be discouraged, as happened in this case.

Oprah must not have looked rich enough.

Had the store clerk known that Oprah Winfrey is worth over 2 billion dollars, of course they would have sold her the bag. Skin color had nothing to do with that.

It is an incompetent store clerk however, because when you work in a store like that, you should be able to recognize the richest people in the world.

Why are some people just so certain that Hannah is complicit in this crime? Is there any evidence anywhere to suggest that Hannah would do harm to her mother & little brother?

People are pointing to the fact that she was seen with Dimaggio by the horseback rider & he did not suspect anything was wrong. Really? This makes her guilty? What about Elizabeth Smart? Victims can be warned or threatened to gain their cooperation. We will not know anything about what Hannah went through until we have her statement.

I am just so thankful to all of law enforcement for not giving up, not turning their backs and finding her. I am thankful she is alive to tell her story. She may not even have known that her mom & brother had been killed.

This report from the riders is very interesting. Hannah tells them, 'Looks like we're all in trouble now'

Riders state Hannah said "Looks like we're all in trouble now." Why would Hannah include herself in the 'we're' if she is not part of what took place previously. Any analysis?

For DiMaggio's sister to say "That's completely out of character for him," really comes across as naive. He did it so it is in his character. Also knowing their father was obsessed and threatened a high schooler (who had to go move and go in hiding) makes the statement come across even more dishonest.

Well if she already knew he killed her brother & mom to get to her. She probably thought they had been found out & Dimaggio was gonna kill them all. That's why she said "Guess we are all in trouble now"

Thoughts: Hannah appeared scared, hiding her face. As the riders rode off, still within hearing distance, she gave the cryptic message re: we're all in trouble now. in...trouble...now! I believe she was trying to send subtle messages that something was wrong, hoping the riders would pick up on it. If that was the case, smart girl!

In his defense, she is pretty hot...

I wonder if the person or persons who keep posting inflammatory comments realizes what they are revealing about themselves....

If she was leery of him why keep
texting and calling him. Maybe she
lead him on. and those day trips
what were they all about. Very
odd. Maybe she was involved with
killing her mother and brother.
